How to choose a GPS tracking provider
A good tracking tool is judged in the field, not in a brochure. Here are ten questions to ask.
Network and reliability
What happens when the mobile network drops? Are positions kept and sent later? How do you know a tracker has stopped answering?
Hardware and installation
Who installs? With what training? Is the fuel sensor fitted cleanly and tested? Is the hardware bought or rented, and what happens at the end of the contract?
Your data
Where is it hosted? Who can see it? Is it separated from other customers’? Can you get it back?
Alerts and support
Do alerts arrive in your language, on the channel you use? What happens if nobody answers a critical alert? Who answers you when something goes wrong?
Price
What does the subscription include? What is added (SIM card, installation, travel)? What is the minimum term?
